| Fall, 1966. That's me with Martha Raye in our
Officer's Club in the Bung Lai Hotel. We were still in the process
of building it when this picture was taken. Martha and her
guitarist were enticed by one of the pilots from the 535th to
spend an evening at the Bung Lai, which she gladly accepted. There
were only a few of us in our small club and Martha really enjoyed it
because it was far from the madding crowd. She sang, drank a lot
of vodka, and smoked Newport cigarettes. Behind the bar is Don
Stallard, to his left is Bill Hodge, and the guy with the drink is A.J.
Stinson. |
