Lieutenant Colonel William R. Findlay

Mr. William Robert Findlay, 69, of Marietta, entered into God's eternal care on Oct. 5, 2011. Bill proudly served in the U. S. Air Force [535^th, 1967], reaching the rank of Lt. Col. Bill retired from Delta Airlines (Captain 767) in 2002, after 25 plus years of service. Bill had a way of making anyone that met him feel like a lifelong friend. If you needed anything, he was always there for you. He was a devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather. Bill is preceded in death by his mother, Anne Findlay, his father, Bill Findlay, and his brother, John Douglas "Doug" Findlay. He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Brenda; sons - William D. (Priscilla) Findlay and James Findlay; grandchildren - Harrison and Eliza Jane; and brother - James F. (Brenda) Findlay, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be sons, Billy and J. J., and nephews Doug Findlay, Lawson Findlay, Billy Thomas, and Brendan Thomas. Visitation was  from 7 - 9 P.M., Fri. Oct. 7, 2011 and the Funeral Service was at 10:30 A.M., Sat., Oct. 8, 2011, both at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd., Roswell, GA 30076. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
