Lieutenant Colonel Marvin L. Fluitt

Marvin Levi Fluitt, 87, of Midwest City, Oklahoma passed away September 17, 2012. Born July 1, 1925, in Jonesville, Louisiana, son of Truman E. and Albert Grace Bonnette Fluitt. He flew a variety of planes, including P-40's, B-29's, B-36's, B-52's, and several cargo planes in the U. S. Air Force until retirement as a Lt. Col. in September 1975. Marvin was a longtime fan of the University of Nebraska; He had a fabulous sense of humor and was a crossword fanatic. He loved to talk “Politics” with family and his wife, a former marathon runner, and would help anyone who needed help.

To any good news he would enthusiastically and loudly go "YaHooooo !!!! Everyone who knew him knew how attached he was to his pet Jack Russell Terrier, Wendy Morning. She went everywhere he went and got along with him, but could growl and snap at just about everyone else. He was preceded in death by parents, his only brother Jack Fluitt, and a daughter Marsha Fluitt Saponari. Survivors include his wife Rebecca Fluitt of Midwest City, OK; 3 sons, Paul and wife Lily Fluitt of MWC; Mark Fluitt of Lincoln, NE; and John Fluitt of Oklahoma City; 1 daughter, Barbara and husband Royce Gaddis of Lubbock, TX; 3 step-children, Suzanne Aylor of MWC; Randy Marley of Edmond; Terry and wife LeeAnn Marley of OKC; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services to be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22 at Bill Eisenhour NE 23rd Street Chapel. Burial following full military honors rendered by U. S. A.F.
