Technical Sergeant Gerald Harmon Garner Stockton, CA Dec. 31, 1935 - August 21, 2007 Gerald Harmon Garner, 71, of Stockton passed away while on a family cruise on August 21, 2007 off the coast of Florida. He was born in Palestine, Texas and moved to Texarkana, Texas for his High School years. After high school he joined the U.S. Air Force serving at various duty stations throughout the world, including a tour with the 459th TAS in Vietnam in 1966 - 1967. He retired after twenty-two years with the Air Force. Jerry came to Stockton in 1979 and worked as an aircraft mechanic for A.G. Spanos. He again retired in 2001 from Tracy Unified School District. Gerald was affiliated with S.G.I.-USA and was a member of the V.F.W. He was married to Masae Garner in 1957 and she preceded him in 1996. Survivors include: son, James (Nancy) Garner of Farmington Hills, MI; daughter, Jan Grennier of Vista, CA; five grandchildren, Rachel and John Grennier, Brian, Michael and Brandon Garner and one sister, Linda Kay Thompson of Harrisburg, Arkansas. Funeral services were held on Friday, August 31, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Evergreen Chapel of Cherokee Memorial Park. A Memorial service will be held at a later date. |
