John E. Jolley, Jr.

 

John E. JOLLEY Jr., age 77, of New Port Richey, passed away October 3, 2003 at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, Tampa. He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee., and moved to New Port Richey in 1985 from Athens, Georgia. Colonel Jolley received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Chattanooga, and his Masters Degree from George Washington University. He was a retired US Air Force Colonel with 32 years of distinguished service.

He served during World War II and the Vietnam War. He served with the 537th TAS at Phu Cat in 1966.

Survivors include his wife, Monteen (Long) Jolley of New Port Richey; two sons, John E. Jolley III, Robert Knowlton of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three daughters, Cathey Wilkinson of Estill Springs, Tennessee., Sharon Huber of Aiken, South Caroline, and Teresa Marne Peterson of Washington, DC.; three brothers, Edgar M. Jolley of Ooltewah, Tennessee, Winton S. Douglas and Ernest B. Douglas, both of Key West , Florida He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Colonel Jolley will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.
