Master Sergeant George W. Olsen

A funeral for Master Sergeant (Ret.) George W. Olsen, 78, will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Nadeau Family Funeral Home with the Rev. (Ret.) Dr. Su Schlagel officiating.

George passed away at his Vacaville home Tuesday, February 8th 2011, after a long illness. He was born on February 22nd, 1932, in Lewistown, Montana, to William and Inga (Brox) Olsen. He graduated from Gallantin
County High School in Bozeman,Montana, in 1951. He had a full military career the United States Air Force as a C-141 flight engineer, retiring in 1979, having served his country faithfully 26 years [458th 1967].

Thereafter, he embarked on yet another career, and for the next 16 years he was an employee of Shell Oil Company, retiring completely in 1996. He was member of the Air Force Sergeants Association. He married Beverly A. Cheesbrough in Carmel, California, in October 1955. She passed away in 1972. He is survived by his three daughters, Julie Parsons of  Benicia, Jeannie (Richard) Coupe of Vacaville and Susan (Fred) Manovas of Suisun. He also leaves a son, Stacey (Dorothy) of Auburn. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Rosemary Zrelak; as well as his grandchildren, Greg, Brian, Kevin, Amanda, Melanie, Daniela and Jordan; and his three great-grandchildren, Landon, Kristina and Hunter.

Friends are invited for a visitation on Tuesday. Feb. 15, from 3 to 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. A private Burial with full military honors will be held Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
