Coy Oliver Townsend Coy Oliver Townsend was born March 6, 1934 in Stratford, Oklahoma to Oliver and Susie (Ward) Townsend and passed from this life December 12, 2008 in McAlester, Oklahoma after having attained the age of 74 years, 9 months and 6 days. He was reared in Stratford and moved to Tecumseh during high school. He attended Tecumseh High School. He began his military career in the U. S. Air Force where he served in both Korea and Vietnam [535th, 1969]. He married Shirley Cheek and she preceded him in death. On February 22, 1988, he married Eileen Pinegar in Eufaula, Oklahoma. Following his military service, he lived in Shawnee. He later moved to Eufaula and had resided in McAlester for the past 20 years. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for Townsend Motors in Shawnee and J. J. McAlesters as a small engine repair mechanic. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jack and Otis; and three sisters, Manima Melott, Marie Milligan and Jewell Happy. SURVIVORS: His wife: Eileen Townsend of the Home |
