Lieutenant Colonel Roy M. White

Roy M. White, 64, Lt. Col. U.S. Air Force (Ret.), passed away suddenly on April 5, 2012 at his home in Chantilly, Va.  He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jane M. Pencek White and his two daughters, Rebecca M. White and Mary (Colby) Swift of Virginia. He is also survived by two grandsons, Eric and Ignatius Swift.

Roy graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1969 and served three tours in Vietnam [537th, 1970]. He served several additional tours in South East Asia and was a Six Day War Veteran. After retiring at the rank of Lt. Colonel, he became a government contractor for the FAA and was most recently an employee of Lockheed Martin on the National Airspace Implementation Support Contract.

Roy is survived by his mother, Elizabeth White; and his sister, Sharon Epstein, both of Connecticut. He is also is survived by his mother-in-law, Mary Pencek of Dunkirk and his in-laws, Jack Pencek of Dunkirk, Carol (George) Stafford of Fredonia, Richard (Susan) Pencek of Galloway, Ohio, and Mary Ann (Robert) Mahunik of Pennellville. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on April 13, 2012 in Chantilly. He was buried in Arlington National Cemetery on July 6, 2012 with full Air Force Honors. Condolences may be sent by logging on to www.FairfaxMemorialFuneralHome.com
