John Stymerski was a Sergeant assigned to
the 483rd CAMS, at Phu Cat, Vietnam, from 12/68 until 10/69. His
overseas tour of duty started at Korat, Thailand where he worked out of
the Nav Shop (Doppler Nav on F-105's). The assignment in Phu Cat
was to support the 459th TAS.
While at Phu Cat, he ultimately
became the NCOIC of the Nav Shop. He was able to schedule rides on
the Caribous. That's how he managed to obtain a lot of pictures of
airbases and landing strips in Vietnam. Please note that not all
of the pictures were taken by John. He has downloaded some from
various places on the web.
